Classifieds King, which aims to be 1 of the top places in the UK for placing free classified ads has opened their doors to create an online classified ad platform that offers users the ability to post, view and respond to ads for almost anything in a variety of categories throughout the entire country for free.
My Web World was contacted by the client to create an easy–to–use classified ad website that would compete with the best classified ad websites. The client required an effective back–end system with an intuitive user interface, a mobile–compatible site and a streamlined process for users to post ads.
Objectives

- Include advanced filtering and categorisation across ad types

Our Solution
Discovery & Planning
To ensure that Classifieds King had a simple and functional layout, we began with competitor benchmarking and a user flow analysis prior to moving on to the development of the new site. Based on the results of our analysis, we recommended a custom classified ads platform built on the WordPress platform for an easy–to–use content management system along with future scalability.
Website Design
- Developed a modern, user-friendly site layout that has visual elements to encourage visitors to take action
- Designed for ease of use by creating a user–friendly user experience that is expected to produce lower bounce rates and higher conversion rates.
- Created the design for mobile access so that visitors can post or view classified ads from any device
- Developed a visual design with clear categories, recent ads and featured listings

- Created custom post types and taxonomies for each classified category
- Developed a front-end ad submission form with image upload and preview options

SEO & Performance Optimisation
I worked on making our URLs friendly for search engines. I added meta tags, alt texts, and implemented schema markup.
I also enabled lazy loading and compressed images to help our pages load quickly.
I submitted the sitemap to Google Search Console and set up Google Analytics to track our performance.
I created landing pages rich in SEO for key categories like Jobs in London and Used Cars UK.

Since launch, Classifieds King has shown promising growth metrics:
